Mendy Fry Achieves Multiple Five-Second Zone Times On Mickey Thompson Tires At 'Funny Car Fever'

Stow, OH - McCain’s Bomb Squad leader Mendy Fry and her 1973 Plymouth Duster Nitro Funny Car entered a rather exclusive club over the weekend at the Funny Car Fever event at the Sacramento Raceway, April 24-25. Fry achieved two solid back-to-back passes into the 5-second zone on Mickey Thompson ET Drag tires.
In the final qualifying session on Saturday morning, Fry earned the number one qualifying slot to lead the pack going into eliminations with a 6.003 elapsed time at 235.60 miles per hour. Fry proceeded to get even quicker with a 5.963 elapsed time at 239.92 miles per hour in her first round victory over Dennis LaCharite’s GTO. Then, in the second round, she ran her quickest elapsed time of the weekend with 5.949 elapsed time at 241.95 miles per hour - the quickest and fastest McCain’s Bomb Squad run ever!
