Record Holder Larry Spiderman McBride Is Victorious At The AMA Dragbike Summer Nationals On Mickey Thompson Tires

Stow, OH - World record holder Larry Spiderman McBride continued his undefeated season at the AMA Dragbike Summer Nationals, June 13-14, 2009, at the US 131 Motorsports Park in Martin, Mich., on Mickey Thompson Dragbike Tires (#3073M).

Prior to the start of the Summer Nationals event, AMA Dragbike officials announced that the Top Fuel racers would use a 1,000-foot mark rather than the standard 1,320-foot quarter mile because the shutdown area is shorter than most AMA Dragbike tracks. After overcoming mechanical issues with the bike early in the event, McBride smoked his final 1,000-foot run with a 5.24-second time at 216 miles an hour. McBride expressed gratitude for all his supporters and sponsors.
