James Monroe Races To Victory And Earns His Second Wally Of The Season On Mickey Thompson Tires And Wheels

Stow, OH - James Monroe has earned his second Wally of the 2009 season at the NHRA JEG'S Super Quick Series, July 19, 2009, at the Kil-Kare Dragway in Xenia, Ohio.

Monroe advanced through five rounds of competition through the night with consistent sub-.990 sixty-foot times and 4.50-second elapsed times in the 1/8-mile on Mickey Thompson ET Drag tires (#3186) and the new Mickey Thompson 16x16 Pro-5 ET Drag dual bead lock wheels. With this win, Monroe was one of only five racers in 183 series races that was both the number one qualifier, and the event winner!

This victory is a testament to the reliability of the Mickey Thompson slicks that I believe in so much, said James Monroe. At the JEG'S Super Quick races, we often qualify in the heat of the day and race into the evening as the temperatures cool dramatically. This race was different because it actually cooled down quite a bit close to midnight. Because of my Mickey Thompson tires, I did not have any concerns regarding the reliability of the tires and my consistent 60-foot times. This allowed me to focus all my energy on the driving.
