Bill Glidden And Ashley Owens Win Two In A Row On Mickey Thompson Tires At Back-To-Back ADRL Events In Houston

Stow, OH - It was another exciting weekend in American Drag Racing League history this past weekend. The UTI Inaugural Texas Drags and the ADRL UTI Dragpalooza VI took place July 23-24 in Houston with several winning racers on Mickey Thompson tires.

Bill Glidden, the Extreme 10.5 racer who crashed his car several weeks ago during the fourth qualifying run of the ADRL Hardee?s Independence Drags IV, was able to repair his 2010 Mustang in time to race in Houston. Glidden earned the win in the Extreme 10.5 class for both events on Mickey Thompson ET Drag 3169W tires and Pro-5 Wheels and now has 11 career Extreme 10.5 class wins.

"It is phenomenal to see Bill Glidden back at the race track without missing one race following his recent crash, and then see him win two in a row, especially with 155-degree track temperatures. What an incredible accomplishment."

Ashley Owens, who has also overcome adversity this year, bounced back from his first eliminations loss in 2010 to post consecutive 4.13-second passes to win his fourth title of the year in Pro Extreme Motorcycle on Mickey Thompson 3055S tires.
