Stow, OH - Mickey Thompson Performance Tires & Wheels is proud to announce its title sponsorship of the 15th Annual Race to the Million to be held September 8-12, 2010. The race features the finest competitors from across the country, all of which are competing for the largest payout in bracket racing history.
"Mickey Thompson has been involved in this race since its inception and it is truly the premiere event in high dollar bracket racing," stated Carl Robinson, Motorsports Manager, Mickey Thompson Performance Tires & Wheels. "It's great to be involved, and we're looking forward to being in Indianapolis this year."
Launched in 1996 by legendary race promoter George Howard, "The Million" offers competitors the opportunity for a payday that exceeds any single event in all of drag racing. The one-day purse generally exceeds $300,000 and the weekend winnings total more than $600,000. Race promoter Randy Folk is currently working on a program that will provide total awards in the sum of $1 million.
Previously held at Memphis Motorsports Park, this year's event will be held at O'Reilly's Raceway Park in Indianapolis, Ind., and is guaranteed to be an action packed, highly competitive race.
