T.J. Schippling Earns The Quick 32 Sportsman Series Win On Mickey Thompson Tires Taking Home The Mickey Thompson Contingency Award

Stow, OH - T.J. Schippling was victorious at the first event Quick 32 Sportsman Series presented by NAPA Auto Parts at the Cayuga Dragway at Toronto Motorsports Park this past weekend. Schippling ran a 7.418-second pass at 171.01 miles per hour in his Top Dragster on Mickey Thompson #3186 ET Drag Tires in the final to win over Jeff Gabel of Stratford, Ontario.

The opening round in the new Quick 32 Sportsman Series included 11 Top Sportsman cars and 12 Top Dragsters as well as several former PMRA Pro Modified racers including Scott Wildgust and Carl Spiering, who qualified first and second in the Top Sportsman contingent.

The Quick 32 Sportsman Series of drag racing was launched in 2009 as an alternative for high-horsepower Sportsman-class racing teams. The 2009 Series event dates include season opener on May 16-17, at Toronto Motorsports Park in Cayuga, Ontario, and end with an event on September 19-20 at St. Thomas Dragway.
