The BAJA BOSS XS Triumphs at the 2024 King of the Hammers
Mickey Thompson’s All-New BAJA BOSS XS Takes Podium Finish with Jeremy Jones in Every Man Challenge – Legends Class
STOW, OH – February 3, 2024 – Mickey Thompson, the innovator of performance tires for enthusiasts takes a third place podium finish with Jeremy Jones in the Legends Class, and first place for Justin Miron in the Rookie Class, at the 2024 Ultra4 King of the Hammers Every Man Challenge. Mickey Thompson teams outfitted with their newest tire evolution, the BAJA BOSS XS®, took third and fifth overall out of over 160 teams competing in the 2024 King of the Hammers Everyman Challenge. A demanding competition which pits man and machine against one of Mother Earth’s toughest desert environments, The Hammers; these competitors relied on the BAJA BOSS® XS to support them with tenacity and grit to help them power through the finish line.
With over 60 years of performance tire innovation, the BAJA BOSS® XS was developed through years of testing and engineering, revolutionizing the way ultra-tough truck tires are designed. Utilizing the POWERPLY PRO™ technology, the BAJA BOSS® XS features a unique sidewall construction composed of two radial plies sandwiched between two heavy-duty bias plies designed to improve puncture resistance. Coupled with an increased sidewall compound density which is engineered to reduce the risk of sidewall punctures during aggressive rock-crawling and high-speed off-road racing. All this, making it one of the most durable and competitive off-road tires available in the market today.
"The brutal challenge of King of the Hammers is why we compete year after year," said Jeremy Jones, Legends Class competitor, "I want to extend a huge thanks to Mickey Thompson for engineering the best tire and supporting me during my back-to-back podiums."
"Ultra4 allows us the proving grounds to test the durability and toughness of our tires," said Heather Tausch, Sr. Director of Marketing for Mickey Thompson. "We’re thrilled to provide competitors with the all-new BAJA BOSS® XS a revolutionary tire backed by the competitive spirit of our founder."
Congratulations to Jeremy Jones who finished third in the 4800 Legends Class and third overall, Brian Trempe with a fifth overall finish and Justin Miron finishing first in the Rookie Class and 20th overall and all the Mickey Thompson teams that competed.
