Schedule Set for 2020 Mickey Thompson Tires NHRA Top Fuel Harley Drag Racing Series
Nitromethane-powered bikes will again compete in 10 races throughout the year at some of the fastest tracks in the country.
Some of the baddest drag bikes in the business will return to the track next year as part of the Mickey Thompson Tires NHRA Top Fuel Harley Drag Racing Series.
NHRA officials have announced a 10-race schedule, bringing the popular competition back to select events throughout the 2020 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series season.
“We are honored to be the title sponsor for the 2020 Mickey Thompson Tires NHRA Top Fuel Harley Drag Racing Series,” said Ken Warner, Vice President of Marketing, Mickey Thompson Tires & Wheels. “The competitors and the fans have grown to love the high-stakes, pulse-pounding action this series provides, and we know that next season will be the best one yet.”
The series features NHRA’s only nitromethane-powered two-wheeled machines at some of the fastest racing facilities in the country. The bikes are capable of exceeding 220 mph with each pass, and races are regularly decided by just thousandths of a second.
The 2019 series championship came down to the final race of the season in Indianapolis, as Tii Tharpe edged Doug Vancil for the title for the second consecutive year.
The 2020 Mickey Thompson Tires NHRA Top Fuel Harley Drag Racing Series kicks off Feb. 6-9, 2020, in Pomona, California, and then travels to Phoenix (Feb. 21-23); Charlotte (April 24-26); Topeka, Kansas (June 12-14); Chicago (July 9-12); Brainerd, Minnesota (Aug. 13-16); Epping, New Hampshire (Aug. 21-23); Indianapolis (Sept. 2-7); Reading, Pennsylvania (Sept. 17-20); and Dallas (Oct. 15-18).
